You can interview me for that job here. Now let’s get to it…
Last week was Half-Term, which for me, meant several paradoxes all at once;
I didn’t have to get my daughter up early for school, and yet she woke up earlier than she would on any school day.
There was a spell of exceptionally good weather, but I started early, took my dog, when it was still as cool as The Good Old Tepid Days.
I didn’t get any work done, and yet I spent more money than I would in a month.
I could stay up late, but I couldn’t stay awake.
My home town swarmed with tourists; there was time, but there was no room.
I’m exaggerating but none of this is not not true. What a summary like this can’t give you is The Sum of the Truth; that none of that mattered and I loved spending time with my excellent child. She says more funny things in one day than I could write in a month. But this letter is late, and for that I apologise. There’ll be no long-winded essay this week but I do have some recommendations to share with you and this time I’m going to focus on my favourite book-related podcasts. I thought, as a half-term treat, I’d give them to you in a snappy listicle. The paradox is that it isn’t snappy at all.
