A few weeks ago I had the problem that I’d read a lot and hadn’t connected with any of it. I think I blamed it on Harrison Ford or something. Now I’ve got the opposite problem in that I’ve read a lot and enjoyed all of it. It doesn’t seem like it could be true. What would Harrison Ford say about this?
Here’s the stack of it, and I recommend all of them – straight up. Read any of them. Read all of them! It feels unprecedented but this has happened before, hasn’t it?
There have been these special months. March was not so long ago. Perhaps I’m actually saturated with Good Stuff now and July is doomed. And I wonder if I’ve been ruined into thinking books are just usually This Good. Seems like Good Books are as easy to come by as sunny days and delicious iced coffees these days – maybe that’s just Life in June? And so, perhaps it isn’t the books at all. It’s just that it was April and now it is (was) June. Things are better generally; my dog is fully recovered, I’ve just booked a short trip for the end of Summer, I’ve had good news on some work I’ve done. Maybe these books were destined for success in the way that April books simply were not. But.
