Yes! I enjoyed that one, but not quite as much as Rush. Haven't seen Ferrari yet but will do at some point. Christian Bale popping up in Le Mans - star of one of the other sports films I liked; The Fighter! I will definitely go and see The Iron Claw and it's 100% because of Jeremy Allen White.
I’d completely forgotten about The Fighter. Yes, Bale excellent in that too. I love him. I contemplated seeing Ferrari at the cinema but I had enough of Adam Driver’s terrible Italian accent in House of Gucci. Obviously I also love all the Rocky and Creed films too. Can’t stand to watch boxing in real life though.
I had convinced myself that this piece was a witty piece about the comeback of Gladiators!! I was steeling myself to be persuaded to watch it by your brilliant writing!! I’ve avoided watching it so far, because despite the nostalgia that is calling me, Gladiators was only good for two things. 1. Shouting “Gladiators rrready!” In a Scottish accent. 2. An a precursor to the smasher Blind Date (and here is your host...!).
