That cake looks amazing.

I'm normally not easily put off by violence but I started watching GoT and just could not deal with the rapeyness. I'm watching an old season of Fargo, feeling very happy not to be in Minnesota snow!

Oh I LOVE Fargo!!!

I just started watching Fargo, and I am obsessed with it! I watched three episodes of Season 1 the other night when it was just me and the dog at home.

Separately, my favorite line ever written about Game of Thrones is from Catastrophe when Sharon Horgan's character says, "So I'm supposed to watch Game of Thrones on my own...like a pervert?" I couldn't watch GoT because I was disgusted with how it portrayed women in general, but I found that line very funny because it was so relatable!

You’re my favorite way to do Friday mornings. Heart full. Eyes open & staring at all my glorious books that make me SO HAPPY TO BE ALIVE! Sorry for screaming… anyway. Happy Friday everyone.

2 questions,. 1) was that cake chocolate orange? 2) did you save me a bit for tomorrow?

It was jaffa cake and I'm afraid I didn't because I accidentally ate in the wrong direction, so when I was half way through I'd eaten all of the orange part. I'll have to buy you a slice so you can have the full experience. 😉

Also my dear friend in london sent me this post and I don’t think she realised you are literally 5 mins away from me. My grandparents used to bring me into your shop as a child. Will definitely be in!

Ha! Was the local connection not the reason they sent the link to you? If not, that's mad! What a small world.

It was a complete coincidence!

Ooh those pig books look great. I am still trying to figure out reading levels for my 6 year old, he blasts through the ones he gets sent home from school but then others seem harder. We’ve been reading Claude and Mercy Watson.

Nice. My daughter (6) is really enjoying the Pig book! Have you seen the Super Rabbit Boy series? As I'm typing this I am having deja vu - have I recommended Super Rabbit Boy to you before? https://uk.bookshop.org/a/20/9781839949180

Ooh, maybe! I'll add them to my list. I feel no shame with kid book ordering, because the school library always eagerly accepts donations for books that are in the AR reading scheme (I have only a vague idea what this is, but my gut is that I don't like it?)

My husband was given a book on beer by Michael Jackson by some rather clueless but well-meaning friends years ago. I remember thinking two things: enjoying drinking beer is not the same thing as enjoying reading about beer, and Michael Jackson must either be constantly tortured by his name or else he has a lot of fun with it.

I came to GoT late and loved it. My top two characters are Tyrion and Jon Snow. The books are way less rapey than the TV series btw.

I did wonder how the books compared but I suspected the TV script writers were to blame for the relentless OTT dialogue. Yes, Jon and Tyrion are lovely (and never don't make any rape jokes).
